THE S.S.R.D.O.D.

The Greek Scientific Society for Rare Diseases and Orphan Drugs (S.S.R.D.O.D.) was founded in 2011 by 47 Founding Members, physicians and scientists of several specialties with proven interest and research in rare diseases and orphan drugs.

In the context of S.S.R.D.O.D., there is also a Rare Diseases Academy, which focuses on providing information and training to Greek physicians, with the view of safe, early diagnosis and management of Rare Diseases.

The objectives of S.S.R.D.O.D. are:
- Study and promotion of research on rare diseases and orphan drugs.
- Development of new ideas and enhancement of scientific collaboration in the field of rare diseases and orphan drugs.
- Development of educational and practical activities for physicians and scientists of all specialties.

To fulfill its objectives, S.S.R.D.O.D. seeks to utilize every possibility offered by modern technology, in the field of communication, dissemination and sharing of information.

The Greek Scientific Society for Rare Diseases and Orphan Drugs extends an open invitation for partnership and collaboration to the whole scientific community, the medical and pharmacists’ associations, the public and private healthcare bodies, as well as the existing scientific medical societies and unions.
